What are Cloth Menstrual Pads?
Cloth menstrual pads are a fabric, reusable alternative to disposable menstrual pads. They are used in the same as disposable pads, except when you have used them, they are washed so they can be used again.
Why use Cloth Menstrual Pads?
With good care Cloth Menstrual Pads can last many years, saving you money and reducing the amount of waste being sent to landfill. Cloth pads are free of the bleaches and chemicals used to make disposables so no risk of irritation or TSS (toxic shock syndrome) making them a much healthier option.
How do you look after the pads?
After you have used your pads you can rinse them in cold water and allow them to soak in cold water until you are ready to wash them. You dont have to soak them but doing so will help reduce the chance of staining. Your pads should be washed at 40 degrees without fabric conditioners. Using fabric conditioners can leave an oily residue on the fabrics and this reduces the absorbency of the pads. You can tumble dry the pads on a low heat but where possible it is best to line dry them.
What do the little embroidered letters on the wing mean?
To help you identify the absorbancy of your pads we have embroidered it on the wing for you.
P - Pantyliner
L - Light
R - Regular
H - Heavy
How many pads do I need?
This differs for each person. You may use between 2 and 5 pads per day depending on your flow. 10 to 15 pads is a good place to start, you can use them alongside disposables until you have enough cloth pads to last you a full cycle.
How do I care for my hand dyed pads?
Hand dyed pads should be cared for in the same manner as all other pads. They can be washed at 40 degrees but to help keep the colours vibrant wash at 30 Degrees or lower. Do not use bleaches.
Do you have free samples for review?
I seem to get asked this question on a daily basis. I am very happy for any of my customers to write reviews of my pads but I do not give out free pads.
Do you ship to the U.S.A?
No. To ship cloth pads or menstrual cups to the U.S.A requires F.D.A registration. Lady Days Cloth Pads are not F.D.A registered. If you would like to purchase items that are not pads or cups please contact to discuss this.
