March Meet The Maker Day #5

⭐️ CLOSE UP ⭐️ Here is a lovely close up of my Baby Days products. I absolutely love the binding on the neck and cuffs of this baby top. This is my beautiful baby model Charlie. They are the perfect little bundle at making my baby clothes look so comfy. But there’s something about Charlie...has anyone noticed before? You maybe able to spot it on this close up 🧐Or you may not.  Anyone notice that Charlie doesn’t seem to get any bigger 🤔 Charlie is in fact, not a real baby 😲 I know, it’s hard to believe isn’t it...

⭐️ BRANDING ⭐️ • For those of you who have followed me for a while now, you will know that last year I re-branded to my rainbow drop. I loved my old rose but felt quite disconnected from it. It just didn’t feel like me anymore. • I wanted something brighter and that represented my products and customers better. I also wanted something that I could create a fabric design from that was fully unique to Lady Days. With my limited design skills I set to work and my rainbow drop was born. • Why a rainbow drop?...well, because my...

⭐️ TIME ⭐️ • I find that people tend to think that if your self employed and working from home you have all the time in the world to do what you want. You can work whatever hrs you want, or even think you only work a couple of hrs a week. • The reality couldn’t be more different. I actually work a lot more hrs now being self employed as I did when I was in a full time employed position. I do try to give myself at least one day to myself a week to do something that...

⭐️ HANDS AT WORK ⭐️ Not so much “hands” but this is my “hand” the other hand is taking the photo 😁 • As you can imagine my hands are constantly busy, all day. It’s my hands that do all the work of probably somewhere around 7 people. Cutting, placing, sewing, trimming, turning, topstitching, pressing, applying poppers 😅 And that’s just constructing the pads. Once the pads are constructed there’s pictures to take, editing to do, website listing, wrapping the packages. The list goes on and on and on 🤣 • It’s hard, tiring work for my little hands and...

⭐️ STORY ⭐️ So I thought this year I would join in with #MarchMeetTheMaker So here goes, here’s my little story. • I’ve always been creative really. Art was the only the class that really engaged my interest at school. Although I went to college to do art, it never really worked for me and I ended up moving around a few courses. I actually started a mechanics apprenticeship but left college with a child care and education certificate. Yet I fell into retail management as an adult member of the work force. • I had been using reusables since the...
